Log Cabin

Well, it's the first of April and it's pouring rain! That is good news as it will help melt the snow that still remains in my neck of the woods. There is still probably a metere of ice left on the lakes and that means tomorrow, weather permitting, will be a day of fishing with my son-in-law and grandson, Here's hoping for lots of trout for supper tomorrow night.

Today, for your viewing pleasure I present to you this wonderful old log cabin, complete with bathroom facilities....in the front yard.

This old cottage was on the lot at the end of the school grounds when I was in grade one in the fifties. Except for the roof, it looks basically the same. Thanks for the memories.

Cool shot Chuck. Here is Texas it's hot. No rain. Just hot and it's too soon for that. This looks like a great place to be. I don't get to see snow very often.

Nice shot, Chuck. I guess with all the snow and the outhouse in the front, you only need to clear out the snow for the front walkway.

Wow, that's a familiar spot...Mike took one look at it and said that it looks like his Grandmother's place...only a different colour. Where was this taken? It's neat to see something that brings you back in time!

Kath this is the little cottage on the street past Bernatchez's. It is at the end of the school yard. Maybe it was his grandmothers at one time?

Take away the snow and this is very much like the better house my mother grew up in. I love the rustic earthly qualities of this image. I could imagine a few ol' boys, sitting around a log fire telling yarns about the salmon or "trout" that got away. Great to see warmer climates dawning in your neck of the woods Chuck!
